Funerals
Churches are not just there for the happy occasions in life – they are also there to support you when you are facing more difficult times. Losing a loved one is one of those times, and a Christian funeral provides the opportunity to remember the life of your loved one, and also to say ‘goodbye’ as you commit them to God’s care. You will also be offered comfort and support from the church minister both before and after the funeral itself.
Once you have made arrangements with a funeral director, the church minister who will be conducting the funeral will meet with you to discuss the service and to find out about the life of your loved one through your personal reflections and memories.
The funeral service can take place in church, or at a crematorium or burial ground. The exact details will depend on what you choose in discussion with the church minister in terms of readings, prayers and eulogies.
If you would like to discuss a funeral, or would like support around the death of a loved one, you are welcome to contact Revd Kate.
