East Knoyle Harvest Festival - 2nd October 2016

Compliments galore to the flower arrangers for such splendid displays in St Mary’s Church. We are so lucky to have such talent in the village for providing these wonderful arrangements. A very big Thank You to you all.

The Supper took place in the Village Hall after the church service and grateful thanks are due to Bob & Christine Bourne, Alan & Sandra Henderson and their marvellous helpers for a well organised and delicious meal. Jennie Hynd had decorated the stage superbly - even down to incorporating one of the scarecrows from the recent Flower & Produce Show; and there were beautiful flower arrangements on each table kindly prepared by Cilla Maine.

Thanks are also due to Helen Curtis who very kindly sponsored two new flower pedestals for the church displays in the chancel and to all those who brought along gifts of foodstuffs which were taken to the Foodbank in Gillingham during the week.

Very many thanks to everyone else involved, including the Rector and Anna Warhurst, The Revd June Lane and all the children for making this event such a successful and happy one.

The Queen's 90th Birthday Celebrations - Barn Dance, East Knoyle - 2 July 2016

HM the Queen

Plans are well in hand for East Knoyle’s celebrations for HM The Queen's 90”‘ Birthday with the Barn Dance on the 2"‘ July 2016 at Moors Farm, Underhill, East Knoyle (by kind permission of John & June Reading).

The aims - apart from the obvious one of having a thoroughly enjoyable time - are to try and get the majority of the population of the village to come to this special event. We plan a fairly early start - circa 5.30pm - so that children can come along and join in the fun things being arranged for them to do.

As well as a Fiddle Band and caller, there will be a Hog Roast, BBQ (including a suitable vegetarian alternative) and salads etc, as well as plenty of beer, cider, wine and soft drinks.

The food is planned to be ready from 6.30 pm, followed by dancing for those willing to exert their energy !! Or, if you wish, you can just relax, chat and watch others twirling around. The evening will finish at 10.30pm.

We are very much hoping to be able to arrange transport to the Farm for those unable to drive there themselves.

Make sure you have the date in your diary !!

Tickets will be on sale in Wren’s Shop - and other sources
Prices: £10: adults; children aged 5-16: £5; under 5's: free
