'Bring-a-Dish' Harvest Lunch

From Midday on Sunday 18th September
at Donhead St Mary Village Hall

This year, we are organising a shared lunch following our Harvest Festival Service. The Lunch will be from about 12.15pm. St Mary’s and St John’s congregation members - please bring a ‘first course’ dish and Bob will ask St Andrew’s folk to bring a pudding. For each person in your party, you need to bring sufficient for two.

Bring your own drink, plates, glasses and cutlery.

Although there are no tickets, we need a good idea of numbers, so when you come to the Patronal Festival service on 4th September 2016, please sign up for the lunch on the list at the back of the church. Alternatively, you could email Bob with numbers. (please don’t do both!). To email Bob from this website, click here and when new page opens, click on the 'Contact Form' tab, and compete the form to send your email.

St Mary’s Patronal Festival, Donhead St Mary - 4th September 2016

d st marys sThe Patronal Festival of St Mary’s Church, Donhead St Mary will be held on 4th September 2016 at 10.30 am. This is a very big event for the whole parish, and it would be wonderful to have a really good congregation to meet our preacher and celebrant, the Bishop of Ramsbury, The Rt Rev'd Dr Edward Condry. The Benefice choir will be leading the singing, with their organist, Michael Hockney.

There will be a tent in the churchyard with organised activities for children, and we very much hope that families with young children will feel comfortable coming to this service.

Please do join us at this service - all will be most welcome.

Chipolatas and Chocolate, Donhead St Mary - 14th February 2015

ChipolatasThe Chipolatas and Chocolate party, also known as 'Bangers and Mash', held in Donhead St Mary Village Hall marked the approach of Lent, on 14th February 2015 with considerable indulgence in chocolate brownies and meringues and an excellent social evening. Much talent was shown in finding how many four-letter words could be made from the word 'Chipolata' and in the writing of humorous Valentine's Day cards. Although we were down on numbers due to half term and St Valentine's day, we raised about £300 thanks to the generosity of those present and also donations from those unable to come.

Very many thanks to everyone who helped in any way, particularly the valiant kitchen team.
