About Us
The Benefice of St Bartholomew consists of five parishes, with six churches, spread over about 30 square miles of beautiful south-west Wiltshire in the diocese of Salisbury.
Jesus said to them, “Come and see.” They came and saw where he was staying and they remained with him
John 1:39
St Bartholomew’s Benefice seeks to respond to Jesus’ invitation to find where He is at work in our world, and warmly invites others to join us as we do so.
Perhaps the quickest way to show you who we are is to share the image below; a word-cloud of the responses of each church’s representatives to the question “what are we here for?”
Our vision is for our churches to be the heart of our communities, offering everyone care, support, help and love: living out our Christian faith in our villages and gathering people together for the worship of God.
The Ministry Team, led by Revd Kate, conduct services across the six churches of the Benefice, with the invaluable support and dedication of the Church Wardens, PCCs and other volunteers.
For administrative queries (e.g. church opening times, family/ancestor grave inquiries), please contact the Benefice Administrator, Jo Johnson.
